Over charging on your phone account?
I wanted to remind you that over 2 years ago the telephone industry agreed publicly to reduce its pricing for mobile calls between carriers by January 2008.
To my amazement many carriers in the last 12 months have not passed on the reduced cost but in fact increased the connection charge for calls to mobile.
Telstra is now charging as much as 37c per minute plus 30c connection charge for calls to non Telstra mobile phones and that represents the majority of most calls now. However the wholesale cost of calls to other network mobiles has come down quite considerably for all phone companies like us.
The facts now are well established that calls to mobile phones make up the bulk of calls from fixed wire phones . There is no logic as to why our competitors are charging more when costs have dropped!
